Lets learn what is good practice, and what we expect a storage container to be used for.

What can be stored in my container unit?
Lets find out with this handy article.

We’re asked this often and it’s a case of common sense! What is acceptable use? If you’re unsure, please ask us, as this is a general guide and will evolve during the course of time.
The answer is, so long as it’s legal, you can store pretty much anything. Obviously, as our units are of the highest quality, they are intended and can happily hold house moving related furniture and items such as part and complete house contents including bedding and white goods. Our 20 foot ISO storage units can actually hold an entire three bedroom house worth!
We don’t usually allow items that will spoil the container floor such as leaky oil drums, cement, motor cars etc unless it’s going into one of our builder grade units.
Clothes can be stored, but our advice is to store them in a plastic bag or box prior to storing them. Push bikes aren’t an issue also. Paint is ok, so long as it’s in cans. Petrol and oils is an issue. Furniture, like we stated, is ideal in our best grade units; our furniture grade container units are as clean and fresh as you would expect and this is primarily our core business these days.
Did you know that shipping containers are not all the same and you must ask if a unit is suitable for this purpose – e.g. we wouldn’t allow a builder in a furniture grade unit, nor a house removals in a builder grade unit. But – We will ensure you have a suitable unit for your requirements – put simply, we will advise on such matters at point of phone call and ensure furniture is kept within a furniture grade unit, while a builder requiring storage, will be placed into a builders grade unit.
Books again can be stored, Food stuffs also so long as its sealed in tins. Most items found in a lock up garage can be stored ie. the lawn mower, gardening equipment etc.
What can’t be stored in my container unit?
Obviously, anything illegal can’t be stored on our sites! Rubbish, weapons, Flammable goods, Pets, Plants, You, Quad bikes, oils and grease that is likely to leak onto the container floor, or anything of a dangerous or questionable nature is not allowed. We can’t have unit used for the purpose of storing rubbish with the intent of later removing it.
